Red Bali kratom is the red-veined variant of the Bali strain and Green Malay is the green-veined variant of the Malay strain. The difference in vein colors of strains is due to the time in which the leaves are harvested, with white leaves being harvested the earliest, reds the latest, and green leaves within the middle of the maturity cycle. Red strains are typically slower than white and green vein strains. Red Bali is known as a slow leaning, concentrated red strain within the red vein category, whereas, Green Malay is a fast leaning strain with a mid-to-concentrated profile within the green vein category. Green Malay typically has a notably faster aroma than Red Bali.
