Red Malay kratom, like Red Thai, has long been banned in its home country. That's why Red Malay available on the market today also comes from Indonesia, where kratom legislature allows more cultivation freedom. This has led to the expectation that the two strains may have developed properties similar to one another, but they're still two distinct varieties. Red Thai tends to provide a potentially slow tempo and a moderate-to-strong alkaloid expression, while Red Malay maxes out on slowness, providing a potentially more profound, subdued experience and longer lasting properties.
